Chris (Dorset)

Hooke Park, run by the Architectural Association, is an experimental site for working with locally grown timber in architecture. I visited during an open day to discuss hardwood supply and coppicing.

Chris, the forest manager, shared their approach to using naturally irregular timber in construction, and how digital mapping and fabrication tools can help work with (rather than against) these variations.

This visit highlighted how forestry, design, and technology can come together in building practices.

What Grows Again is Antoine Léger’s final master’s project;
